What the SEAI solar PV grant covers
The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), runs a grant that helps homeowners with the cost of installing solar PV panels. The current grant is worth up to €1,800. The exact amount depends on the size of the system installed.
The grant is calculated based on the size of your solar PV system in kWp. SEAI currently provides €700 per kWp up to 2kWp, plus €200 for every additional kWp up to 4kWp, capped at €1,800.
SEAI sets the eligibility rules for the solar PV grant. Key criteria include that the home must have an MPRN, must have been built and occupied before 2021, and must not have received previous Solar PV grant funding at that MPRN. You must also use an SEAI-registered solar PV company and have grant approval in place before works begin.
AirPV is an independent comparison platform. We compare installers, we do not install solar panels. You enter your Eircode, we match you with grant-ready installers in your area, and you compare your options before deciding who to contact.
Grant amounts and eligibility rules are set by SEAI and can change. Check the current grant figure and full criteria at seai.ie. AirPV provides comparison information only, not individual grant, financial or tax advice.
